I've passed by this garden frequently, as Charlie and I wander in the neighborhood.  I always thought it to be a messy garden but in my view a good sort of messy, with lots going on.  Charlie and I met the gardener this morning.  I didn't get her name so don't know if she might be Mary, Mary quite contrary, but we talked long enough for me to learn that she is a bit of a contrarian at least about keeping a garden.  She didn't take offense when I told her about liking her garden, for its messiness, after a moment thought, she responded that she likes to think it is natural.

More questions for Contrary Mary and her Garden

More garden questions for Contrary Mary

Mary, Mary, quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells, and cockle shells,
And pretty maids all in a row

Mary, Mary, most contrary
How will your garden grow?
With empty pots,
Composted soil wrapped in plastic
A tomato, alyssum, purple petunias and a yellow flower
Everything you may need.
It’s all there, ready on the doorstep.
What more could you wish
To make your garden flourish.

How Does Your Garden Grow?

Mary, Mary, quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells, and cockle shells,
And pretty maids all in a row

Mary, Mary most contrary
What new in your garden grows
For nurturing inquiring souls
Maybe a surgical mask or two or three
Free for plucking from the tree?

A picture of a cat.

Cats are popular subjects for photography these days.  This cat on the welcome mat will have to serve at least for today as my contribution to the public displays of catdom.
Cat sat staring as I stood with Charlie at my side, making this picture.  It wasn't until Charlie and I were moving away walking down the sidewalk that cat gave up his stare and wandered off in his/her own direction.

A post in the time of pandemics

This image will work as an introduction to the opening of this new endeavor to get started on a web site that can be a place to be an adjunct to Facebook entries when more words are required or are available to accompany the picture for that day; or for days when there are words but no picture and the words are more than just a few lines.

Stick a fork in it, its done.   Another picture from the University Street Fair (May 21)
